THE MORNING AFTER: Lionesses Live In the Light and Hunt In the Dark

BOLD Lion with Psalm

Lions live completely in the open.  The eat, sleep, mate, play, relax and lounge in the open.   They hide nothing!  They know that they are the most powerful animal of the kingdom and they relax in that knowledge.

Lionesses don’t live a life of fear.  In fact they rest for approximately 21 hours of the day – at ease with their strength and resting in power.

Like the lioness we need to express and live in  “I am what I am”!!  We need to speak boldly (not necessarily loudly), but with strength and weight.

We are an expression of what God created us to be and we need to walk in that light unafraid and unashamed!

Ephesians 5:8-10  “You groped your way through that murk once, but no longer. You’re out in the open now. The bright light of Christ makes your way plain. So no more stumbling around. Get on with it! The good, the right, the true—these are the actions appropriate for daylight hours. Figure out what will please Christ, and then do it.”

We know that we are supposed to be the light of the world, even through the darkness.

Romans 5:2 “By entering through faith into what God has always wanted to do for us—set us right with him, make us fit for him—we have it all together with God because of our Master Jesus. And that’s not all: We throw open our doors to God and discover at the same moment that he has already thrown open his door to us. We find ourselves standing where we always hoped we might stand—out in the wide open spaces of God’s grace and glory, standing tall and shouting our praise.”

We are the “door keepers” of our lives. We need to allow God in but also need to be careful what other things we are allowing into our lives. God has already opened up the door to us – all we need to do is open our own door!  And when we do, we’ll have the access to the Father that has always been there, we just didn’t realize it because our doors were closed!

Lionesses, like all cats,  have the ability to take any light and refract and contain the light and become lit from within.  And we should train ourselves to do the same thing.

As lionesses, we should find that light (Jesus) in any dark situation, take in His light and be lit from the inside!  We need to have a vision that is not dependent on our surroundings, but is a reflection of the inward vision God has placed inside of us

This month, let us walk in our light!  Let us be Bold, Confident and Relaxed knowing that as his children we have the light within us to shine bright from within….in the darkness.

The Morning After – Greet and Groom

As we continue with our Lioness Arising series we decided to switch it up a little bit.  We have been watching the teachings via DVD, but last night Pastor Tracey wanted us to just talk about the chapter instead.

We spoke about how the lionesses in the wild greet each other.  They take a moment to greet every lioness there.  Why?  Because every lioness emits a scent — which is how they are able to know who belongs in the pride.  They know by greeting (smelling) them (not looking at them because all lionesses look the same).  We as Kingdom citizens will know each other by our actions because on the surface we can all look alike.

We can relate that to 2 Corinthians 5:16 “Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.”

Once they have greeted each other, they groom each other. Take the leeches of each others backs, make sure that they are all clean. They let each other know “I’ve got your back”.

This greeting serves two purposes. First, they want to make sure that the ones who are there, belong there!  That who ever is about to receive the blessings of the tribe deserves it.  And second, they are showing the other lionesses that they belong and have purpose.

As Lionesses, we should “greet one another with a holy kiss” (2 Corinthians 13:12) and let each other know that ‘you belong and I’ve got your back!’

You don’t have to pick the lint off your sisters back, but let them know in that greeting that they have a shoulder to lean on, or an ear to listen.  Let each other know that no matter what they are going through….they have the other lionesses in the pride that can strengthen them.

Remember to greet each other, not just say ‘hi and bye’ but greet with a hug and a kiss.  Remind each other that 1) you belong and 2) I’ve got your back!

A Celebration … A Banquet of Praise !!!!!

I believe the Lion of Judah was looking at His Lionesses with such joy as we celebrated His goodness in our lives. It’s so encouraging to see and be a part of women influencing our communities and homes. Our Father is so faithful to us, and is establishing us to glorify Him in our trial and in our triumphs.  It’s exciting to see He is ALIVE in our lives especially when we are AWAKENED to see Him and that He Never Leaves us or Forsakes us.

Thank you to all  the women who testified of our Masters goodness publicly, that you broke past the nervousness and shared with all of us bringing encouragement and hope to all Women of Destiny . Thank you as well to all who served our ladies and who brought snacks, each of you are a vital part , as we participate to raise one another up and to have a night which His lioness pride, passionately, pursues, persistently, His purpose and plan which He provides for our prosperity on this earth.

Lisa continues to reveal to us the truths of what God has intended for His daughters . As the lioness, she knows her strength , she knows her ability to conquer  adversity , she knows to be a sister , mother and mate.

There is a wealth of potential in you. We must decide if we are going to rob the world or bless it with the rich, valuable , potent, untapped  resources locked within you. Your potential wasn’t given for you to deposit in the grave.Potential isn’t what you have done, but what you are yet able to do , scripture reminds us in:

2Cor5:5  “Now it is God who has made us for this very purpose and has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come”

Sista’s He is a God of the potential principle. Everything begins as potential. Potential is always present, waiting to be exposed, it demands never to settle in our accomplishments, we should not be the same person next year that we are this year.

Our thoughts, ideas, and possibilities if not used are like batteries in a radio that is never played – our potential is wasted. So decide today that it’s a New Day, New Beginnings in Christ, to take that step of faith and reach for the unknown. Think of it this way suppose Mozart had died with all that music in his bosom, or Moses died before he saw the burning bush… or Paul before he met Jesus on the Damascus Road, or Abraham before Issac was born. How different the pages of scripture and history would be ! We as His daughter must understand its about His-story as we leave our history on this earth.

So  Make every day count girls !  to take our weaknesses and turn them to strength.                                                                                           Jeremiah 29:11  “For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”

“Good and Faithful Servant “

Beloved Sister Lioness !

It was great seeing all of you Monday night, Lisa taught us to understand where our strength comes from

Romans 15:1-2 (msg)

“…our strength is for Service not Status. Each one of us needs to look after the good of the people around us, asking ourselves “How can I help?”
Have you asked yourself this question lately?”
How often do we go to church seeking how God can serve our needs instead of going to church Praising Him for what He has and is doing and Worshiping Him for who He IS and are we  full of the Word to take into our sphere of influence FOR SERVICE.
Can you do it? The answer is Yes with God. His Holy Spirit has prepared each of us with unique gifts – the question is Do we listen to, and trust our calling by God to serve. (or is it not the right time, too busy, don’t have anytime that’s free, I work too much, family needs me, and we can go on… and on.. and on.)

Have you asked yourself Who has made you so busy? Yes our hearts desire is to help others but in the process have we helped so much  that we enable others to arise on their own feet rather than standing on ours? Yes,  there is a season but there comes time when they too have to draw from Gods strength not the strength God has provided you.

WE are GUIDES not GUARDS  As sister Gerhild spoke on Monday evening we ought to be busy about the Father’s business rather than Just Being Busy !
I quote Lisa from the dvd that “Christ’s nature is a nature of a servant” and here is an example in John 13:10-17(msg):
” Jesus said, “If you’ve had a bath in the morning, you only need your feet washed now and you’re clean from head to toe. My concern, you understand, is holiness, not hygiene. So now you’re clean. But not every one of you.”  (He knew who was betraying him. That’s why he said, “Not every one of you.”)  After he had finished washing their feet, he took his robe, put it back on, and went back to his place at the table.  You address me as ‘Teacher’ and ‘Master,’ and rightly so. That is what I am.  So if I, the Master and Teacher, washed your feet, you must now wash each other’s feet.  I’ve laid down a pattern for you. What I’ve done, you do.  I’m only pointing out the obvious. A servant is not ranked above his master; an employee doesn’t give orders to the employer.  If you understand what I’m telling you, act like it – and live a blessed life.”
Jesus washed cause of Love; that really had nothing to do with Him and everything to do with His purpose. Are you fulfilling your purpose or are you looking to find your purpose? hint – the Holy Spirit has already established it in you so “Seek First the Kingdom and His righteousness and All these things shall be added unto you”
Remember Joseph was a dream interpreter for years before his dreams manifest. We must serve the God thing inside of us ,and learn how to position ourselves .     1Jn4:4 says “Greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world”    The Holy Spirit  in you is stronger than anything. Don’t worry about protecting God’s reputation our job is to Share who He is , Service is a Banquet not a Burden
” Is the hunger God has for us overcome by  the hesitation on the threshold?” so now the question is why are we hesitating could it be Fear? remember “God has not given us a spirit of fear but of Power, Love and  a Sound mind” cause “Greater is He who’s in us !”

We must be filled with His Spirit so we don’t hesitate rather overcome and conquer  !

Ez 19:2(NLT) states “Be a Lioness among the Lions”

Awaken and Rise Up for Service that’s what we are made for !

Lioness don’t forget our meeting on June 24th 6:30 fellowship 7:00 meeting.

Looking forward to seeing you

You can make a difference !      Others are counting on you  !

Fearfully and Wonderfully Made: Session 3

It’s not enough to be captivating if we are still captive.
It’s not enough to fight if we are just fighting for ourselves.
It’s not enough to be loved and lovely if we forget that He loves them.
It’s not enough to go that mile if you forget there are people waiting at the end of that two mile journey.
It’s not enough to give the one cheek if you are not willing to turn the other cheek and find out what’s behind that slap.

What is it that you need to get out of your system in order to give yourself wholly over to the Will of God? What’s stopping you from being His?

Out of all that we discussed in this past session that’s one of the things that we (my group at least) had the most to say about. Lisa told an anecdote in the video about her inability to allow her husband to compliment her beauty without turning that compliment around and insulting herself. She talked about one particular occasion on which she had done this when her husband, finally getting fed up told her that her responses were akin to a slap in the face for him.

You’re insulting my taste in women, my judgment. I married you and you’re telling me I didn’t choose well.

What a Revelation that is.

God made us. Simple as that –so why don’t we put down our jaded mirrors and begin to see ourselves and each other as He does.

Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out;
you formed me in my mother’s womb.
I thank you, High God—you’re breathtaking!
Body and soul, I am marvelously made!
I worship in adoration—what a creation!
You know me inside and out,
you know every bone in my body;
You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit,
how I was sculpted from nothing into something.
Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth;
all the stages of my life were spread out before you,
The days of my life all prepared
before I’d even lived one day.
Psalm 139:13-16

This week Lisa also discussed the perfection of our faith. God is assessing the church, seeking the faithful and He’s not beating around the bush with mollycoddling us about it. We looked at parts of Revelation ch3: verses 1-3 show the Lord assessing the church (so we should assess ourselves); verses 15-18 reveal God as not the meek little baby Jesus that much of the world has made Him, He doesn’t stand for indifference or apathy –but in verses 19-22 He gives an answer to all this. He corrects those He loves and is not looking for “perfect” but for WILLING.

Well, go ahead—twist and scream, Daughter Jerusalem.
You are like a woman in childbirth.
You’ll soon be out of the city, on your way
and camping in the open country.
And then you’ll arrive in Babylon.
What you lost in Jerusalem will be found in Babylon.
God will give you new life again.
He’ll redeem you from your enemies.
But for right now, they’re ganged up against you,
many godless peoples, saying,
“Kick her when she’s down! Violate her!
We want to see Zion grovel in the dirt.
These blasphemers have no idea
what God is thinking and doing in this.
They don’t know that this is the making of God’s people,
that they are wheat being threshed, gold being refined.”
Micah 4:10-12

Once we’ve got it through us that God loves us, that’s not enough –He loves me = He loves THEM; therefore we should love each other and the people He’s created.

Sister Angie also gave us some great passages to take home with us:

Romans 13:1-14 on having the right focus.
Luke 4:18-19 on divine purpose.
Ezekiel 15:42-52 on the condition of our hearts.
& Psalm 139

Here are some of the questions we discussed that help us to assess ourselves:

1. What does the word Christian mean to you?
2. God says you are a work of His Wonder, what strength or area of strength will you now call beautiful that you couldn’t see before?
3. What areas in your life do you want to pull the covers over you and hide from?
4. What provokes a fierce response in you that even now requires prayer?

And about others:

5. Who in your world of influence have you noticed with a need or who is in trouble?
6. How can you encourage or comfort them?
7. What are you good at? How can you share that?

Answer some of these yourselves at home to help you find some insight. Everything you do, do in love.

Lastly, I should personally apologize to all you ladies. I should have had this up yesterday but I had a bit of a crisis at home. Nevertheless a commitment is a commitment and I adore you all so I didn’t want to leave you in a lurch with no focus for this past week’s amazing Word.

I personally feel as though I’m constantly being tried. But I rejoice in my troubles, because it TRULY DOES shape me. Do you know what I mean? I am not the woman I was a year ago, and far different from the woman I was two years ago –and so it goes on, the process of clarification. God is shaping each of us into who we were made to be –we were MADE FOR BEAUTY! And our greatest characteristic that shows our Beauty is our STRENGTH.

Lioness Arising: Dangerously Awake

imagesWe as women sometimes get so caught up in our lives that we forget what’s truly important.  We’ve got families to clothe and feed; careers to build and friends and family we give our time too.  All of which can become potential distractions that tend to take up our time and cause us to lose focus.

This is the basis for part two of Lisa Bevere’s video, entitled Lioness Arising: Dangerously Awake.  Taken from the third chapter of her book of the same title, she tells the story of three lions (two female, one male) who were resettled into a newly designated reserve in South Africa. The men who moved the lions killed a huge animal for them to eat.  What happened next astonished them.  The two females dragged the animal back to an enclosure, not to eat it but to share it with the male lion.  The men were amazed because the lion didn’t want to come out at all. A collar was placed on the lion’s neck to track his movements. The men thought, they could somehow control this lion so they tranquillized him.  One of the lionesses realizes what’s happening, comes out and the men decide to shoot her with a tranquillizer as well. Thus proving that when the enemy wants to get to the men, he’ll attack the female; the conclusion of this is, there’s nothing more dangerous than lions when they’re fully awake.  This is the same for us women.

The question is how do we as women become unconscious?  How did we get put to sleep?

Romans 13:11- 14 states, “11 Besides this you know the time, that the hour has come for you to wake from sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed. 12 The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light. 13 Let us walk properly as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and sensuality, not in quarreling and jealousy. 14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.”

The point is when we as women become exhausted; we sometimes become oblivious to God.  We need to awake to what God is doing and become sensitive to His spirit.   We can no longer afford to waste precious hours. We need to get out of bed, get dressed in Christ and go about our business in Him.  Satan has a plan and when we as women are fully awake; we can be more strategic and have a fierce response. We have to decide everyday that we’re not going to become absorbed by our daily lives.  We’re not going to let the busyness of our lives suck the ‘life’ out of us.

Luke 4:18-19 states, 18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, 19 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”

There’s a saying that states, “well behaved women don’t make history”.  Well there are a lot of women in the bible as well as the world who were not well behaved and they made history.  Women such as Rosa Parks, Esther, Tamar, Deborah- the list goes on.  We as women need to keep things in perspective because time is so valuable.
